This is a one of a kind opportunity to exchange ideas on how to tackle antisemitism and discrimination in sports. Alongside workshops, there will be ample opportunity for networking and for learning from the experiences of other international participants. Registration is open now.
The conference is aimed at both professionals and volunteers, including athletes and activists, who are involved with sports and anti-discrimination efforts. Particularly welcome are individuals who have themselves been targeted by hate speech in sports.
About BRIDGES:
Discrimination is ubiquitous in sports. People are excluded, discriminatory insults are hurled against opposing fans, and athletes are harassed on the playing field. But sports can also provide a platform for social inclusion and for raising awareness about discrimination. Football clubs and sporting associations can be places for the exchange of ideas and provide an environment for learning how to fight racism, antisemitism, homophobia, sexism and ableism etc.
Since the spring of 2023, the EU Commission-funded BRIDGES project has aimed to build bridges between European sport stakeholders to facilitate the joint exploration of innovative ideas for fighting antisemitism and discrimination through sports. The BRIDGES project is a partnership between the World Jewish Congress, CEJI, and what matters.
We aim to bring together our strengths and resources. By learning from different approaches, exchanging perspectives, and standing together, we can advocate for a better environment in sports.
